Urgent Prayer for Steven Curtis Chapman's Family!

I know this story is not about my own personal family, but it has touched me beyond belief. I know the pain of losing a child, but cannot imagine losing a precious 5 year old and the brother who accidently hit her has to be in so much pain right now. I am asking for prayers for the whole family, but especially this young man who will hopefully not be haunted by that forever.

Maria Sue Chapman (2003-2008)
Maria Sue Chapman, adopted and youngest daughter to Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, was killed Wednesday night in a tragic accident in the family driveway on Wednesday evening. She was LifeFlighted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital but for only reasons God can explain she went home to Him... not to Franklin as we all so desperately wanted.
Your prayers are needed for all in the Chapman family. This is a family who has so generously loved and given to so many. Just hours before this close knit family was celebrating the engagement of the oldest daughter Emily Chapman, and were just hours away from a graduation party marking Caleb Chapman's completion of high school. Now, they are preparing to bury a child who blew out 5 candles on a birthday cake less than 10 days ago. These words are unthinkable to type. And yet we trust in a God who was not surprised by this and because of Jesus I am certain through faith in Him we will see Maria again. - Jim Houser (Manager)

Jameson and Dozer

Weekend in Indiana

We went to meet our newest nephew, Jacoby Deacon. He is a very sweet baby and we are so blessed to have him as a part of our family. It was neat to see Jackson as a big brother as well. Here are some pictures that we took over the course of the weekend. We had beautiful weather so the boys were able to be outside and climb the tree.

Skating

Jakob and Jaden had a skating party with their cub scout friends this evening. Being at the skating rink brought back so many memories of when I was a young teenager! It was just funny for me to look around and think of when I would get dropped off on a Friday night with a group of friends and we would skate and have so much fun. I remember those days with really fond memories! Jakob is a real go-getter. He probably won't be reading this so I can say...he isn't the greatest skater YET, but he really tries and just keeps going after what he wants. He fell down probably 2 dozen times and just kept picking himself up. They have a beginner rink that is just great. I wish they would have had that when I was learning. He wants nothing to do with that. When the lights go down and the disco ball is shining, he is right there in the middle as clumbsy as he is. I was really proud of him tonight! Jaden, on the other hand, is my cautious one. He might try something for a little while and if he is not instantly perfect at it he wants to hang up the skates and move on. So, that's exactly what he did. He clung to my arm for dear life and tried and then decided skating wasn't for him. He hung out around the arcade games and played with his friends. I have two opposite ends of the spectrum for sure!

Special Verses

I am going to compile a list of special verses that mean a lot to me. They help me through life and hopefully you will gain some encouragement through them as well.

"My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and years of life, and peace they will add to you. Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart."- Proverbs 3:1-3
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5

An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels, rare, precious The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain, trustworthy. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. Proverbs 31:10-12

Pictures of Jaden's 6th Birthday

Jaden's birthday party was put on by an exotic reptile store in our area, known as the Tye Dye Iguana. They came and put on quite a show with snakes, hissing cockroaches, and so much more. We had so much fun conquering our fears of God's creation!!! Enjoy!

MUD BATH

While Matt and I were in the hospital the boys stayed with our friends Ron & Ora. They had a lot of fun while they were there. These are a few pictures of some of the fun that they had. This is an experience they probably would not have had if they would have been with their mommy!

New Bike

Jameson got a new bike today. He has been very interested in the big boy bikes, so I thought in the interest of safety it would be a good idea to get him one his size! His feet don't quite reach the pedals yet, but he is happy to sit on it and scoot around.

Family Update

A lot has been happening the Rhoderick household lately. Matt broke his leg in 2 places on Monday April 21st. He was at softball practice and went for a foul ball. He broke the Fibula and Tibia. He spent Tuesday evening in surgery getting a nail, rod and screws put in his leg. He is doing great and seems to be healing quite well. He will meet with his surgeon on Thursday, May 8th and hopefully will be cleared to go back to work. It has been great having him home, but there isn't much he can do and it's getting to him. He will be happy to be back to his normal routine.
